Last week, I helped the girls write letters to Santa, and then we took them to the local post office to put in the special "letters to Santa" mailbox. I thought it was just a cute photo op type thing, so you can imagine my surprise when I opened the mailbox today to find a genuine stamped reply from Santa himself!
Santa has very childish handwriting, but he was nice enough to write back to the girls and answer a few of their questions. Tempe especially was thrilled to receive a reply to her letter!
{Helena mailing her letter}
{Dear Santa--Hi Maddy! Just kidding! Haha! How are you doing? I hope you are doing well! What is your favorite color? What is your favorite reindeer? I like purple! This year, I want a moose! Love, Tempe} I tried to take this opportunity to teach the girls a little about "letter ettiquete", hence the more adult phrasing in part of the letters. Can you see how she wrote her name by herself?!?!
{Dear Santa, How are you doing? What kind of cookies do you like? I like orange cookies. No, red cookies, I said! This year, I would like a pancake, a band-aid, and treats. Thank you very much! I hope you are doing well! Love, Helena} Helena's letter is more word-for-word than Tempe's, but I stuck some more polite phrases in there as well...
I hope you had a lovely Christmas!
