Happy birthday, Kelsey! I can't believe my baby sister is 17 already. Wow. Wasn't it just yesterday that she was dragging her stuffed Simba around by the scruff of his slobbery neck, playing with her little people and animals (the giraffe was the mommy and the daddy little person was the baby), and letting me give her "horse back riding" lessons on my best friend Kelly's back?
Now she is almost a senior in high school, driving, dating, working, going to Peru in a few weeks, getting great grades at school, and much closer to writing a book than I am! I am so proud of her! And today her first article for Radical Parenting was published: check it out. Kelsey is an amazing person. She is so sensitive and thoughtful of others. She can't stand to leave anyone out or for anyone to be upset with her. She is so creative and smart! Those are just some of the reasons we gave Helena her middle name (Louise). I can't wait until next fall when she is at BYU and we can hang out more often.
