Please take your seats, class. School has begun.

{Disclaimer: Jason and I are not going to homeschool our kids (not that there's anything wrong with that!), which is good, because the girls' education would sure be lacking. We used to joke about the classes The Anderson School would offer. Here's a sample.}

Classroom Courses
Geography: the U.S.S.R. and East and West Germany may not be current countries, but that's what is on our globe (courtesy of DI), so that is the geography that our children will be learning.
History: Dan and Jess Hardy supplied the Wizardology textbook for this course.
Science: The Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs. And the Bible. My goal is for Tempe and Helena to have the same attitude as Kenneth from 30 Rock: "Science was my favorite class! Especially the Old Testament."

Practical Courses
Math: Calculating if it's cheaper to buy the store brand or the name brand with coupons can give anyone a headache. That's why I need Tempe and Helena to do it.
Arts and Literature: Stringing noodles on yarn is art, right? And we go to the library once a week, so yeah. Literature is pretty much covered.
Gym: When I need something from upstairs, I tell Tempe I want to see how fast she can go and get it. And then I count really slowly until she gets back. When Helena is older, I will make them race.

Maybe I should homeschool after all!

I'm explaining why I removed my comment. It's because after I posted it, I noticed some gramatical errors, which would make me look bad in light of the subject matter (home schooling)! Your posts are so funny, Kate!
