Ok, this is a braggy post, but look what I made!! {Korkers!} I made korkers! I didn't know it was possible to make your own; I thought you *had* to buy expensive korker bows. But I found this tutorial and now I can't stop making them.
See that little red bow sandwiched between the white one and the cream one? That was my first ever bow. It no longer functions (Tempe bit off the red part of the ladybug) but I keep it out of nostalgia. Over the years I've made lots of bows, but that little red ladybug bow was always one of my favorite.
I'm not the best bow-maker, but it's a fun hobby. It was especially helpful when Tempe was younger because people would see a bow and know that she was a girl (for some reason, no one makes that mistake with Lena, even though she has no hair to speak of and I almost never put headbands on her). I usually make a whole new set of bows at the beginning of a new season when I have to re-outfit Tempe, and as a result, my bow-box is getting pretty full of rubber bands, hair clips, ribbons for tying in hair or making new bows, uncovered alligator clips, and buttons or trinkets that I'm saving for future bows.
I even tried to make a rubber bug bow (it just screams Tempe to me) but the hot glue just peeled off the bug; maybe I can sew it on??
