what this post should have been

{Another braggy post: Look what I made!!! If you can't tell, it's a grocery bag holder, to corral the grocery bags spilling all over the floor in my pantry. I haven't sewn anything in probably about two years, but when I found this tutorial , I rushed out to buy fabrics and ribbon so I could get back into the sewing scene. And now that I am done with this, I will probably make the matching potholders from this tutorial.}
Unfortunately, that is not how this post really is. This post really is this:
{I found a great tutorial for an easy sewing project (perfect for me, who is a mediocre seamstress at best and hasn't attempted anything in several years) so after story time, the girls and I stopped at Wal-Mart and I found some cute fabric and ribbon. As soon as they were down for their naptime/quiet time, I got my old sewing machine out of the closet and set it up on my desk. Say! That's kind of cute. I could have my own little crafts corner over there by the bookshelves in my bedroom. Then I decided to practice on a scrap of fabric, since it's been so long. I threaded the machine and the bobbin, and settled down to sew some straight lines. Stitch, stitch, rmmmmmm. Uh-oh. Now I remember why I haven't sewn anything in so long.
My machine is mysteriously jamming after the first two stitches. I tried rethreading, reinserting the needle, redoing everything I know how to (which isn't much), but no luck. I guess I won't be making a grocery bag holder today.}

What this comment should have been: oh, that is such a cute grocery bag holder!!! I love it, Kate!

What it really is: That stinks about your sewing machine!
