The funniest thing my kids have ever said

Mom: Did Grandpa K {my dad} bring you anything?
Helena: No. Well, he brought us dinner. A dead chicken with it's dead head cut off so we couldn't see it's dead face.
Tempe: Yeah, it was like an unheaded mommy. {she meant mummy}

I still snort a little bit when I think of this conversation. Apparently, Tempe and Helena were very interested in the rotisserie chicken my dad brought for dinner when he was here a few weeks ago. They wanted to know what part of the chicken it was, and when he said it was the whole thing, they were confused because there was no head. It reminded me of the scene at the end of "A Christmas Story" when they are at a Chinese restaurant and the duck is "smiling" at them.

Tempe and Helena have quite a collection of Littlest Pet Shop animals from our next door neighbor. They all have names and some of them are so funny! Today I had her tell me all their names and wrote them down. Here are the best:

Ter-duh-ter-duh Turtle

Queen Mallory

Hadley, nickname "Hadlish"

Newslady... yes, Newslady.

Silver Mist

Also, Tempe recently was trying to soothe Juno, who was squawking in the car: "Oh, it's ok, you don't need to blast into sadness!"
