{real estate} and what it means for your family

Do you ever look online to see what kind of house you could have gotten for the same price, but in a different part of the country?

I do. Even though we are perfectly happy in our house, I can't help but wonder what else is out there. I found this gorgeous gem on a Kansas City real estate website.

Wow! I guess there is something to be said for the midwest.

That said, I really do love our house and it's well suited to our family. The best advice I can give for someone looking to buy their first home is to hold out for something you love. We looked at many, many houses, and a lot of them were bigger and cheaper than the one we ended up in. However, none of them felt like home. I couldn't picture making dinner in kitchen, going for walks in the neighborhood, playing in the backyard, or really raising a family in any of them. When we walked into our house for the first time, I felt like I was home. So despite the fact that we could have gotten more bang for our buck elsewhere, I am so glad that we ended up in our sweet little house.
